Series II of the Sovereign Gold Bonds (SGBs) Scheme 2023-24, will be available for subscription between 11th to 15th September 2023.

 Issuance Date

The Sovereign Gold Bonds (SGBs) nominal value is Rs 5,923 per gram. A discount of Rs 50 per gram will be given to online applicants.

          Pricing

The investors get a fixed interest rate of 2.5% per annum on the nominal value of the SGBs which is payable semi-annually.

          Interest

The tenure of Sovereign Gold Bonds (SGBs) is 8 years. However, early redemption is possible after the 5th year, which can be exercised on dates when interest payment is made.

     Redemption

You can apply for SGBs through designated banks, post offices, the Stock Holding Corporation of India Ltd (SHCIL), recognized stock exchanges or online during the issuance periods.

Since Sovereign Gold Bonds (SGBs) are issued by the Government of India they are considered risk free. It eliminates the risk like storage and theft associated with physical gold.
